The Obertauern holiday region is located in the south-east of the Salzburger Land and belongs to the two districts of St. Johann im Pongau and Tamsweg im Lungau.
Obertauern lies at an altitude of 1,630 to 2,526 meters. The exciting mountain world with the Radstädter Tauern has a lot to offer holidaymakers in summer.

The following 3 long-distance hiking trails lead right past our front doors:
"02" Central Alpine Trail East (1,270 km) "Stage 27 and 28" and on the Salzburger Almenweg (350 km) "Stage 23, 24 and 25" the most famous of our long-distance hiking trails is the Arno Weg (1,200 km) "Section 5"
Our mountain railways Obertauern have the Grünwaldkopfbahn and the Hochalmbahn in operation for you from July to September.
Another highlight is the wildlife and leisure park in Untertauern and the Alles Alm adventure trail on the sunny high plateau on the Almboden.
